Messi,his first appearance for the first team in a friendly match against Porto was held on November 16, 2006. Before a year, Frank Rijkaard introduced him for the first time against Espanyol on October 16, 2004 at the age of 17 years and 114 days and became the third youngest player ever to play for Barcelona and youngest club player. He played in La Liga where a record had been broken by his teammate Bojan Krkic in 2007. on 1 May 2005, when he attained his first senior goal for the club against Albacete , Messi was only seventy years old and becoming the youngest to ever score in a La Liga game for Barcelona until 2007. Messi told about his ex-coach Rijkaard that he did not forget that Rijkaard had launched him and had given him confidence as he had been only seventeen years.
